Middle School
Sunday School
Our Sunday School program for middle school, 6th – 8th grades strives to create an atmosphere that encourages spirited discussion and interaction as well as respect for differing opinions. Each week students and their teachers explore a variety of age appropriate faith-based topics. Middle School students leave the Worship Service for Sunday School following Children’s Moments.
Confirmation Class
Confirmation is an 8 month long opportunity for youth in 8th grade and higher to explore and affirm their faith. Each week, the group gathers with the pastors to bond and grow. During this time they have the opportunity to explore the meaning of the Christian Faith, church history, organization and the sacraments. The settings for these discussions include classes, community service, field trips, retreats, and more.
The class meets Thursdays from 4-5pm.
Young people on the confirmation path are asked to choose mentors to nurture and guide them through this season of their faith journey. It is our hope this will become a lasting supportive relationship.
Youth Bible Study
Youth Bible Study provides an opportunity for youth in grades 6th-12th to deepen their faith with God in adult-led, peer-to-peer discussion. Topics explored include: who is God (“God Who/God What?),” sexuality (“Let’s Talk About Sex”), and who is Jesus (“It’s A Jesus Thing!”).
Meets 1st & 3rd Fridays of the month from 7-8:30 pm
Junior Methodist Youth Fellowship
Junior MYF is our 6-8th grade youth ministry. Twice a month, youth gather for fun activities designed to nurture their faith. As befitting this age group, participants are encouraged to select the activities, projects, and Methodist conferences they wish to engage in. Chosen events nurture the spirit, faith, body, and mind. In addition, they are offered opportunities to serve communities both local and abroad.
The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 7-8:30pm
Operation Christmas Child
Each year we join hands with many other churches around the world to share in the Samaritan Purse Project. Together with the rest of the congregation, youth decorate and fill shoeboxes with items to give to children across the world. |
